Pakistan Tehmina Janjua on Friday handed custody of Ubaidullah, an Afghan national who went missing in
Pakistan during his sta
y in the country, to the Afghan Embass
y in the nation’s capital.
Ubaidullah had come to
Pakista
n along with his parents for medical treatments of his father, but later went missing, said the Foreign Office (FO) in a statement. The child’s mother departed to Afghanistan after his father succumbed to illness and after numerous unsuccessful attempts to locate her son.
Talking on occasion, Tehmina said that the way Ubaidullah w
as taken care of in
Pakistan only shows how conne
cted the two countries are. She further added that both,
Pakistan and Afghanistan, aim to eliminate terrorism and establish peace across the region.
The Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) took custody of Ubaidullah after he was found by Islamabad Police in 2015.
